New Regulation Room For School
"With behavior trends at the highest in years, it is important to teach our students how to cope with big emotions and teach them strategies for success outside of their school years," said Kaci Nichols, Stockton Jr. High/Grade School counselor. Creating a safe place for students to release frustrations and physical feelings provides a space for learning and self-discovery. HCF awarded USD 271 a grant to support a new regulation room at the Stockton school.
"This grant helped effectiveness and impact because it allowed us to purchase regulation furniture, tools, and create a space that students feel safe to be themselves in," said Nichols. "When learning how to deal with emotions, it can be messy so having a calm space to learn in is so crucial."
