Heartland Community Foundation Announces Rooks County Scholarship Recipients

Hays, Kan.— The Heartland Community Foundation is proud to announce the award of $5,000 in scholarships to support area students for the upcoming academic year. These scholarships aim to assist students in pursuing their educational goals beyond high school.

The Paul and Terrii Bowman Scholarship, which was established in 2023, is designed specifically for Rooks County high school seniors who plan to pursue education in vocational fields. This year, $2,500 each to Braylon Bittel from Plainville, KS, and Hayden Hilbrink from Stockton, KS. Braylon intends to major in Renewable Resources at Cloud County Community College, while Hayden plans to pursue a major in Electrical Technology at North Central Technical College. They are the scholarship’s first recipients.

Established by a generous donor from the community, the scholarship fund is housed within the Heartland Community Foundation and aims to support local students in their educational pursuits.
