Next Strategic Doing Dates Announced for Ellis, Rooks & Trego Counties

Heartland Community Foundation announces the next Strategic Doing meetings in each county.

Each meeting will include a webinar about how to find and secure additional funding sources for community improvement projects. They are open to current Strategic Doing teams, as well as others in each community who would like to learn more about current projects and the process. All meetings are free, but please see below for RSVP information.

  • Rooks County: 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 11, at Rooks County Health Center Education Center, at Highway 183 and Washington St. in Plainville. A pizza meal will be provided. Please RSVP to board members Sally Lowry at 785-425-6734 or Cathy Ramsay at 785-737-3590.
  • Ellis County: 6:30 p.m., Monday, September 10, at the Robbins Center on the campus of Fort Hays State University. Snacks will be provided. Please RSVP to Sandy Jacobs at 785-621-4090 or heartland@gscf.org.
  • Trego County: Noon, Tuesday, September 11, at the Western Kansas Cooperative Community Room, 635 S. 13th St., WaKeeney. A light lunch will be served. Please RSVP to Hardy Howard at 785-743-5791.

Hosted in partnership with the Dane G. Hansen Foundation, Strategic Doing aims to guide Ellis, Rooks and Trego County residents through the process of prioritizing, planning and implementing sustainable county-wide community improvement projects identified by community members at-large. Projects and ideas that develop from these meetings will be eligible to apply for funding through the Dane G. Hansen Foundation Community Grant Fund at Heartland Community Foundation or directly to the Dane G. Hansen Foundation.
